Saturday Scribbles

Its been a busy week
I kept thinking I would have time to
do another post...
Daughter had back surgery on Tuesday
we were at the Hospital
all day long...and
finally got her home at 5:00
I have been at her house
every day until today...she is doing
very well...gradually building
up her walking...but unable to
drive or lift anything....
Thank you to all who prayed for
her...
We are finally getting a little
break from the heat and seeing
a smidgen of rain from
time to time.....
Have a great weekend....

 For today...
Monday, July 25,2016, 12:30pm
Outside my window...
94 degrees F. and partly cloudy
high humidity and feels like 99...
I can see a sunflower just opening up,
the red Caladium and red
Geranium contrasting with a light green
Sweet Potato vine...
of course Smokey is asleep
on his window seat...
    I am thinking...
that all the work I've done this morning
has left my shoulder screaming
and I need to take some
medication...
A Bible verse I'm sharing...
"The Word gave life to everything
that was created, and his life
brought light to
everyone" John 1:4
 I am thankful...
that I can read the Word...

nothing at the moment
A song that stays on my mind...
 I am going...
to stay home today
Feeling hopeful...
that the heat will be over soon

Saturday Scribbles

I threw together this gift tag yesterday
going to a shower today..it is about 70 miles
away so I'll be gone for
6 or 7 hours....
I linked two gifts by adding a coordinating
tag to the second one...
....we had a little shower yesterday but not really
enough to help...
it continues to be sweltering hot with high humidity
.....Hope your day is good

Funny Friday

Good Morning and welcome to Funny Friday
Wil here
All of my friends are off to camp Good Bear
but I haven't been myself and decided with
Mama Bear's help to stay home...
Summer is a particularly hard time for
this bear as I have that winter coat
 to wear every where
We live in the Southern United States
and although we have air conditioning
it is only a help if I limit my activity...
So-o I want to say hello to Prudence and the
gang at Good Bear, hope they're having
loads of fun....I do miss you...
Mama Bear wants me to include this photo
It is the first apple off our tree, ever, that we
have been able to eat....
Other years, the pesky Squirrels have
gotten there first, knocked them
off when they were still green...
this year, Papa Bear relocated 20+
of the pests to other places...
Of course, others have come to
take their place and we now have 8
of them running about...
I may just have to use the air rifle on them..
that will mean braving the 100 degree heat...I
don't know how they stand it out there...
Stay Cool and enjoy summer

Hodge Podge

1. Pokemon Go...your thoughts? Are you playing? Do you even know what it is?
I have read a little about it but haven't checked it out.

2. What was something you collected as a child? Do you still have that collection? If you're a parent what's something your own children collected? Have you ever camped out, stood in a crazy long queue, or paid a ridiculous sum for a 'collectible'?
I didn't collect anything as a child...Daughter had quite a stuffed animal collection and still has them...No, although I do collect some things, I don't go to that extreme

3. "Collect moments, not things"...tell us about a moment you've added to your collection this summer.
Got to hold my great Grandbaby..

4.  What's something collecting dust in your home right now? Any plans to do something about it?
I collect Bears and I occasionally run them through a dry cleaning cycle in the dryer with the Dryel bag....takes about 4 times to clean them all....and figurines but they're in a glass case....my teapots and birdhouses are getting dusty.

5. A favorite song relating to time?
If You've got the money honey, I've got the time.

6. What's been your most frightening or your most interesting encounter with wildlife?
One morning when I got up and looked outside I saw what I thought was a white kitty walking across the back yard...she was carrying a baby in her mouth and then I saw another one that was black and white...first time I've ever seen a skunk up close...she had her young under the back porch and it had rained quite a bit and she was moving them one at a time to a dryer place across the street....She had a total of 6 babies and an older one with her. As soon as we thought she had finished moving them, we blocked up the place she had gotten in.

7.  On July 20, 1969 Apollo 11 Commander Neil Armstrong set his foot down on the moon. If you could travel to the moon would you go? Why or why not?
No
8. Insert your own random thought here.

Summertime

I decided to stay home today....my asthma was acting up yesterday afternoon...it had been very windy and the air was hazy with dust since it had been so dry...this morning we got a shower so maybe it will settle down some. I made these photos on Friday...Honey Bear had just finished this path which leads from the porch around to the pond.....no grass would grow here as it is under the large maple which shades the porch. We plan too plant ground cover and Hosta in this space where the bird bath is...notice the fan on the table...the only way we can sit out there in this heat and humidity is to have two fans going....one bonus with it being so dry is mosquitoes have been scarce.

Long Time No Post

Sorry folks, All I can say is I've been busy. Please don't forget me. I'll try to do better.
Here are some cards I recently made

A quilt I made for Matthew. And a picture of Great Grandmother and her little sweetie. Too sad that he is a 6 hour drive away.
I've seen a few movies and had a nice visit from my sister last week. She and I saw Now You See Me 2, shopped til we dropped, and ate out at an Italian Restaurant.

Wonder Boy graduated from high school
