Wednesday Hodge Podge

1. Has spring sprung in your little corner of the world? Other than the calendar how would I know? What's your favorite thing about spring?
Yes, all of the trees are blooming and the grass is growing...Temperatures have been pleasant in the day time....
the temperature outside is just right.

2. Besides the weather, what's put a spring in your step recently?
getting out walking

3. How does Easter impact you?
I'm thankful for the cross and that Jesus Christ died to set me free...

4. I saw this somewhere on Facebook and thought it would make a fun Hodgepodge question. Which of the following would you find most disappointing...

a just stuffed taco shell breaking open and spilling out before you take the first bite? dropping a just-purchased Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts coffee? opening the peanut butter jar and finding it empty? upending onto the sidewalk a just-purchased ice cream cone? a burnt bagel popping up in your toaster when you're rushing breakfast? or cutting into an avocado and finding out it's rotten?
a just stuffed taco shell breaking open and spilling...

5. What's something held together with tape at your house? Or a paper clip? Or a wing and a prayer?
Honey Bear recently glued a broken stepping stone together if that counts...

6. Do you feel under-appreciated? In what way?
No

7. What's something you'd build if you knew how?
a swing

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Made a visit to Tuesday Morning earlier today for some retail therapy....sometimes you just have to get out of the house...Now, cornbread is in the oven, corned beef hash is cooking along with some beans. All set for Honey Bear's lunch when he gets in from work.
I've managed to stick to my calorie goal and have walked  two days this week. Already I am feeling better.
Hop on over to "From this side of the Pond" to play along with Joyce

A Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today...
Monday, March 21, 2016
9:40 a.m.
Outside my window...
The sun is shinning, everything is green
its 47 degrees
A Bible verse I'm sharing...
1 Timothy 1:5 The purpose
of my instruction is that all believers be
filled with the love that comes
from a pure heart, a clear conscience,
and genuine faith.
I am thinking...
that I am finally on track with
my food and exercise
after many false starts
I am thankful...
for this beautiful start
to Spring, although it
was cold the last two nights
I am wearing...
pajamas and robe
I know it is getting
late to not be dressed
but I wanted to do this post
and then dress to go walking
I am creating...
putting the finishing
touches on this
I am going...
to go for a walk soon
just waiting for the temperature
to rise a little
I am wondering...
how the Princess is doing
at school today
she was really dreading
returning after
Spring Break
I am reading...
Product Details
I am hoping...
to start on the baby quilt today
I have it pinned and ready
to quilt
I am learning...
to do free motion
quilting on
a quilt as you go prject
with Leah Day
In his garden...
the soil is ready for planting
and many plants
are already up in
small cups
A song that stays on my mind...
 In my kitchen...
Lots of leftovers
A favorite quote for today...
Mid pleasures and palaces
though we may roam,
be it ever so humble,
there's no place like home
...Howard Payne
From my photo album...

 One of my favorite things...
going for a walk

Hello

Hello everyone!
I know I've been absent again...so much going on and so little time. I confess I have been glued to my computer watching my favorite shows...caught the finale of Downton Abbey. I finished quilting Nature's Journey and the binding is on. A friend is embroidering the label on her machine then I'll do the last minute stitching and count it finished. I didn't like my quilting too much on it. I made some mistakes but it still looks good. I helped a friend get work done on one of her UFOs and that was fun. Spring is showing up everywhere and today the temperature reached 80 but look out for later in the week we'll dip into the 30s again at night. I had a nasty fall when out walking and it took 3 weeks for the bruises and scabs to go away. Honey Bear has recovered and is busy getting his garden started in the greenhouse. I've been to the movies three times, saw the latest Star Wars, Brooklyn, and The Lady in the Van. I've read Under the Bright and Starry Sky, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night, A Year on Ladybug Farm, Water, Stone and Heart, Nathan's Run and two Lee Child Novels. I'll try to pop in and do a post later this week.
