Time Lost

Hello all,
It has been so long since I posted that I'm not sure if I know how to do it anymore... We are both well. Honey Bear just had his second eye surgery for the removal of cataracts. Soon he will see better than me. I've had a time this Spring with my asthma and my back and have, as a result, put on weight that I am finding it hard to get off.  This past week we lost one of our hens, Doris, and now only have the one, Pauline. She is a good layer, hardly misses a day and seems to be doing well alone. Thursday we had 70 mph winds during  a stormy afternoon. We lost half of a white pine tree which fell across the fence near the back of our side yard. The top landing in the neighbor's yard. This pine tree had in its early years, split and had twin trunks continuing up. The half that broke off had about a foot diameter base. Honey Bear managed to get the top and some of the limbs cut off, repaired the fence and is slowly finishing the job.
I think about all of my blogger friends, often. I care about all of you. I'm just not sure I want to be a regular writer here.

  1. Good to hear from you! Hope you're asthma and back are under control now. Our biggest news is that my little grandson was born 11 weeks premature. He has been in the NICU for 8 weeks as of tomorrow. He has had some ups and downs but is gaining weight well. They're having trouble with heart rate drops, normal for a preemie. If all goes well he should be able to come home in a couple of weeks.

  4. Glad you are both well even though it sounds like you have had some bumby times.... I think blogging is like a lot of things, there are seasons for it and if you need a break it's ok.... I'm sure you will make it back sometime and touch base with everyone...

  5. Ahh, you have had a rough spring. Hopefully a break will do you a world of good. Perhaps just checking in once in awhile to let us know how you are doing would be great. Take care of everyone.

    God bless.

  7. Sorry about your he Doris and that storm sounds like it was a bad one. Glad the eye surgery went well. Also sorry about your back and the asthma. Let me tell you that I've been trying for three years now and I feel it is impossible to lose weight with my COPD. I exercise and eat healthy but nothing every changes. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

  8. I'm glad your husband's eye surgery went ahead to be successful. Hopefully, your asthma would start giving you an easier time as well. I'm sorry about your hen, Doris. Pauline must be stepping up the plate now that she's the only layer left around. Haha! By the way, we care about you too! You should definitely share more on your blog regularly. =)

  9. I've been off line a bit, myself, and hopped over here to see if you'd posted. I didn't know I'd missed this post. I miss hearing from you.

I'm glad Honeybear's eye surgery is behind him. Ed went through that the last of 2013, and now he sees much better than me, too! Only 3 more payments and we'll have the balance of the bill paid off. Yay!

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling your best. I hope and pray that you will get back to where you want to be. Don't be discouraged!

I'm so sorry about your hen. We, too, lost another one, a while back. We currently have four. They're now 2 and 1/2 years old, but still keep us in plenty of eggs. We are now able to let them free range for short periods of time, and they enjoy that! I'm not happy when they head for my flower beds :(

It was good to touch base with you. I hope you won't completely stop blogging, cause I'd miss you! I already feel as if I've lost a dear friend.
    Take care,
    Kathy

Thank you for all your hard work in making the challenge so successful, it's a shame that the challenge is ending but I can totally understand your reasons and wish you all the best.
