I Miss Mama

Today is the anniversary of my Mother's Home Going.
Its been 6 years.
At times it seems like forever.
I miss her so much.
Sometimes I have dreams that are so real.
And I wake with a smile
and just lie there and appreciate
the blessing of seeing her as
if she is still here.
Toward the end of her last few months,
she was suffering so.
I know she is with the Angels
and Jesus and Daddy.
And that she has a brand new body.
But sometimes I feel as if
she is right here with me.
And I talk to her.

I'm sharing a few photos of her.

That's her behind me at my bridal shower.

Here she is with my granddaughter, Marisa who is 14 now.
With me and my daughter at her bridal shower.
With my sister and my niece at her bridal shower

And here with Wonder Boy. Daddy's holding The Princess.

  1. What a lovely lady and a sweet tribute. It's been about 5 and 1/2 years since my mom passed away, too. Some of her photos are in the mix of my computer screen saver, and sometimes it is a comfort when her photo comes up, and other times it gives me a pang.

  2. Awe what a sweet post. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when my bom is gone. Sending lots of hugs your way.

btw - I did some major purchasing material BEFORE hubby retired. I knew I would never be able to buy as much as I'd like to now that he's retired. Hugs

  3. Sweet Friend,

Yes, I know what it is like - I miss my parents so much that sometimes it's hard to breathe.

I know it's not over and one day we will be together and that is what keeps me going.

I am so thankful that Jesus is in your life. It's going to be an awesome "homecoming".

  4. Such kind eyes your mum had ....I think we will always miss our mums... and I am happy every day to have great memories...

  5. (((Hugs))) I miss my mama, too. Aren't we blessed to have had good mamas? What joy there is in the hope of heaven. Praying you will feel that joy as you remember your mama this day. Love, Patricia

  6. Bless your heart! She is beautiful. I am thankful to have my Mom. Isn't it wonderful to have that hope that we will see our loved ones again. Praying for you.

  7. What a lovelz post and tribute to your dear mother. I have lost both of my parents too and not a day passes that I don't wish that there were here to share in our joy, but I know that they are experiencing eternal joy with our heavenly father.

  8. Thank you for posting, your mother is a beautiful woman. I have been missing my mother a lot lately. I had some news I wanted to share about my daughter and I have been so sad because I do not have her to share it with.

  9. Oh yes....I have lived that dream many-a-time as you do. And as with you, I also feel good!!

    What a tribute.

With the impending fizzling tropical storm yesterday and not being online much because of preparing for the worst that never came, I'm now trying to catch up on visiting those that visited me. Thanks for taking the time to leave a great comment: MUCH APPRECIATED!!

    Have a blessed weekend.

  10. Such treasured pictures of your mama, she was truly beautiful. I don't think we ever stop missing our loved ones who have gone home, they're forever in our hearts and minds. My dad has been gone for 32 years now and I still expect him to come walking in and sit down for a cup of tea:-) xoxo

  11. Great to have such wonderful memories.

  12. I love the pictures of your sweet mother. This September 8 will be the one year anniversary of my mother's going home. I miss her so much and I dread that day already. :-(

  13. What a beautiful mom you had.....such a tribute to her memory that she is still know that one day you will be reunited brings much joy to those of us left behind......may Gods' peace rest upon your heart during the anniversary of her home going and throughout the year......
