Sunday Morning Coming Down

We're experiencing a break in the heat today...there have been lots of thunderstorms in our area but it has been weeks since we had any rain.  The high today is going to be in the 70s and there is a breeze blowing...I probably should try to go out for a walk but the pollen count is high and I don't know whether to risk it.

College football season began yesterday...I watched the University of Florida and Miami University play last night. It was an enjoyable game...I was impartial but I kinda of pulled for Miami as they were considered the underdog.

Our Daughter is having a house built in the new subdivision that's being built where they opened up our cul-de-sac. Since we moved back in 2008 she has never been further than 3 miles from us....This will put her just around the corner and about 6 houses down....If you've followed me for several years, the houses are being built where the cotton field used to be.

Have a good day!

Thoughts

Hi, Do you remember...
The Princess
and Wonder Boy...Well
they are both in school
at Auburn University...
We went down with the Princess
on August 8 to move
her into the dorm...
a proud day but a sad one..
She is our youngest grandchild
and time has passed way
too fast...

Funny Friday

Wil here for
Funny Friday...
It is way too hot
here for us bears...
We've been under several
heat index warnings
so...
I haven't been outside
walking much, just
staying inside where it is
cool...
Hope you're looking
forward to a wonderful
weekend...

A Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY
Tuesday, May 14, 2019

Outside my window...
58 degrees with 83% humidity, expecting
a high today of 70...a little cooler since the
weekend rain...the sun is shinning and it still
looks very green out there...the Impatiens I
planted are blooming and spreading...alas,
the Caladiums never came up...

I am thinking...
I should get up and shower so
I can get my day going...

I am thankful...
for my sweet Honey Bear who just
now brought in some roses from the yard
for a vase in the kitchen...

In the kitchen...
Some leftover taco meat... lettuce and
strawberries from the garden...

I am creating
ideas for cards...want to ...make a couple
of graduation cards...

I am going...
to renew my Driver's Licence, to Publix,
and maybe a few other stops
before my appointment with the spine doctor
this afternoon...

I am wondering...
if I've recovered from the stomach virus I had
over the weekend...

A Song that stays on my mind...
Forever Young by Rod Stewart

I am reading...
The Clearing: A Strong Woman in the Middle Ages (A Medieval Tale Book 2) by [Potter, Lina J.]

I am hoping...
To have a productive day...

I am looking forward to...
Our vacation next month...

Around the house...
its cleaning day...

A Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY
Tuesday, May 7, 2019

Outside my window...
Green, and more green! I see Squirrels
scampering, birds flitting, chickens scratching
and sun shinning...62 degrees and
expecting a high of 85

I am thinking...
about doing this and that...I've often
said that if I did all I think about, I
would accomplish a lot...

I am thankful...
for a peaceful home and a loving husband...

In the kitchen...
one slice of the Birthday cake of
which I have eaten way too much...
Strawberries from the garden and no leftovers

I am wearing...pajamas

I am creating...
trying to finish up the HHC,
needing to start some needlework

I am going...
to stay home today and wait on
the man from Precision Door..
our garage door finally called it
quits..

I am wondering...
if we'll ever have a day without pollen...

I am reading...
People of the Abyss by Jack London..
been reading some classics lately

I am hoping...
to do a couple of loads of laundry and
trace off an embroidery for daughter among
other things..

I am looking forward to...
a few days at home...some
weeks, it seems I have to go somewhere
every day, and it is nice to spend time at home
occasionally

I am learning
what 70 feels like...

Around the house...
mostly tidy, waiting for the housekeeper to
clean...

I am pondering...
the way the world has changed since I was
a teenager..

A favorite quote for today...
"We read to know we're not alone."
C.S. Lewis

One of my favorite things...
clean linens on the bed

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Women's Club meeting Thursday night
Workshop on Friday

Saturday Scribbles

Hello Everyone,
I seem to have lost the last 3 months...where does time go...seems the older I get, the quicker it goes by...
I think about you often and sometimes I lurk and read your posts without commenting.

I have been doing some sewing, some sorting and discarding....mostly back therapy has taken much of my time...

Spring has come to North Alabama and with it the pollen....Everything outside my window is green with blooms scattered here and there....

We have chickens again and they are a joy to watch...I began chatting with them when they were still little so they would get used to my voice...now whenever I go out to see them, they come running to me, chattering away...wonder what they're saying...There are 6 hens and they are 11 weeks old.

My grands have all grown up when I wasn't looking...they are 25, 23, 21, 19, and 18....The youngest graduates high school next month....3 are in college, Georgia Southern, South Carolina, and Auburn...

I've never watched Basketball but this year I've become a fan as the Auburn team has gone to the play-offs for the first time in 30 years...they're all the way to the final 4, playing Virginia today....War Eagle.
They won the SEC title as did Auburn's Equestrian team....I've followed the Gymnastics which I love watching.
