Wednesday Hodgepodge/Outdoor Wednesday

Footloose in Wednesday Hodgepodge volume #51

1. Who taught you how to cook?
Helping out in the kitchen started at a very young age so I'd say I learned a lot by doing....I love to cook......My Mother had some very good cooks in her family on her Mother's side who owned bakeries or cooked at Universities or military bases......then in high school, I took 4 years of Home Economics...by the time I was 14-15, I was cooking for the family on my own....the only problem, when I got married, I had to go from cooking for a crowd to cooking for 2.

2. Have you been told you think too much? Are too much of a perfectionist? Are too sensitive? Were they right?
Maybe the sensitive part because I can never talk about something dear to my heart without the tears starting and I cry while watching movies or reading books......not a perfectionist at all, although I do like a job done right......Thinking too much: only at night when I should be sleeping...

3. As a child did you have a favorite blanket or toy? Tell about it.
I can't remember being attached to a blanket or toy in the same way my grandchildren were.....I got a baby doll for Christmas when I was 8 years old and I still have her so I guess I was attached to her in some way....I loved all my toys because there were so few of them..

4. What 'institution' do you have the most faith in?
Joyce said Marriage and I do believe in it and take my vows seriously...I believe the till death do us part, part.....I know things do not always work out the way we plan as in the case of my Daughter (bless her heart).......I base my 'faith' in God, Jesus and God's Word...it gives me such peace.

5. Chrysanthemums-pansies-burning bush-ornamental cabbage...your favorite in an autumn garden?
I think Mums are so pretty and in Fall colors but I've always loved Pansies...I really should buy some to set out.

6. What superpower do the kids in your neighborhood seem to posses?
I just don't have an answer to this one....I don't know any of them.....We live near the end of a cul-de-sac and the only children down here are older teens or college students who we don't see out much.....the majority of the families are either childless or like us, empty nesters.

7. Are you a fan of the cranberry?
I prefer dried cranberries over raisins....I love to eat whole cranberry sauce with my cornbread dressing....I've even been known to drink a little of the juice now that it comes without sugar.....I have a wonderful cranberry congealed salad recipe that I like to make.

8. Insert your own random thought here. I think I must finish this so I can get dressed and do my shopping.
I'm joining Joyce for this blog hop.

Yes to all of #2 for me.

I don't care for cranberries at all.

  3. Enjoyed your blog. The waterfall is so pretty. Your answer to 3, brings back memories of my childhood, toys were scarce, especially with 7 kids.

  4. Your pictures are so pretty! I think all moms probably think too much when nighttime falls.

  5. Love the photos. Where are all of the kids these days? Seems like most of the blogs I'm reading say there aren't any. Seriously?
