A Simple Woman's Daybook

From Mama Bear's Journal...
Outside my window...the sun is shinning,its 76 °F, (24 °C), the heat index is expected to reach 99 today, right now the humidity is 74%....there's a Squirrel under the feeder, the Blue Jay and Red Headed woodpecker are challenging each other for rights to the feeder itself....the Squirrels have drained the Hummingbird feeder so yesterday I ordered another baffle.......I see that I need to dead head the Butterfly Bush and give some plant food to the potted flowers.....
Hearing.....silence except for the fan and the clock ticking
I am thinking..the stove repairman should arrive soon...
Feeling thankful for....Peace which is a gift of the Holy Spirit and mine to claim simply by asking and believing and giving my burdens over to my Lord.
I am remembering...the way Summers were when I was a child without AC.
Creating this...(meant to have some photos for this).....sewing up some aprons to hold drainage bags for breast cancer patients.  They look like those nail aprons that carpenters wear.....planning to do a little sewing today to finish those, do my Santa Sack and the TIS blocks for June
I am currently reading...Echoes Through Time by Charlotte Banchi...
One year ago today...I think it was a little cooler and maybe we were having some rain...its been two weeks without any now.
I am hoping...for a productive day.....and still hoping that the stove can be repaired with just this small fuse.
On my mind...typing up the agenda for Thursday night club meeting and the minutes from yesterday's county meeting.....getting the two pillowcases in the mail as well as two sympathy cards.
Noticing that...the older I get, the harder it is to be motivated to lose weight.....
Pondering these words..."Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's Peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your heart and mind as you live in Jesus Christ."  Philippians 4:6&7
From the kitchen...its tidy and I don't plan on doing much cooking until the weekend...I'm thinking its time for a quiche and some fruit.....had whole wheat raisin toast for breakfast
Around the house...the floor near the back door needs vacuuming.....the studio is a mess with all the projects going on but when its tidy, that means I'm not creating so I like it just fine as it is for the moment...
I am praying for...Denise(Shorty Bear), Honey Bear in Houston this week, my children and the "grands", those recovering from April's Fury,
A few plans for the week...Hair appointment tomorrow.....another meeting tomorrow and tomorrow night.....getting a Pedi on Friday
One of my favorite things...being able to sleep late and not being awakened by an alarm

The Last of the Charleston Benches

Would you like to linger on the simple things...then join me and many others in taking a little look into the day plans and thoughts of those who are focusing on simplicity...beauty of the everyday moments.

  4. I really like the last bench. The red one looks comfortable but it looks like it is tipping. . .

Have a good week. . . do you buy the books you read or loan from library!

  6. I'm loving mornings without alarm clocks, too.

Loved the Scripture and thoughts on peace. Our pastor just preached on that from the next to last verse in II Thessalonians on Sunday.

  7. we had a youth leadership meeting last night and one boy was saying their AC was broke and how awful it was...well, I had to go into my spiel about how it was when I was a kid with no AC at all! But those were the days! We survived! Beautiful Daybook, so full of detail. Thanks for sharing Mama Bear!
