Laboring Through The Hodge Podge

1. Labor Day weekend (in the US of A) is approaching...what's something you've labored over this year?
Blogging and Journaling, I've found it more difficult to keep up with it, although I still want to.

2. What is one word to describe your 'job' or career?
satisfying

3. What was your worst or least favorite job ever? Why?
Christmas Program Chair.........it was the most stressful thing I ever did

4. How do you measure contentment?
Being at peace whatever the circumstance.

5. Pickles-like or dislike? What is something you eat that requires a pickle? Dill, bread and butter, sweet gherkins...what's your favorite kind of pickle?
I like the gherkins especially with chicken or barbecue and I will eat whole baby dills for the saltiness but I'm not one who eats them often and I don't care for them on Hamburgers......I always used the relish in chicken, tuna, and potato salad.

6. In your current house-town-state, what is it you like living close to?
I like to have health/dental care nearby as well as shopping/restaurants, etc. Nature areas are important, too.

7. What is one thing on your 'want-to-do' list before summer draws to an official close?
Summer isn't my favorite season and except for the fresh veggies, I'm ready to be finished with heat and mosquitoes.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
We've had a mild summer here but Fall is almost here and it is my favorite season.......College Football starts Saturday, Yea!
Thank you, Joyce for continuing with the Hodge.

I'm about ready to be finished with the heat, too, and ESPECIALLY the mosquitoes!

  2. We haven't had an abundance of hot sunny days this summer, so I've been enjoying the recent wave of them. Still mixing in with some rain, but I'll take what I can get. Winters are so long here, I need the summer to feel ready to face the winter : )

    Go VOLS!

  4. I'm like Kathy...the heat I can almost tolerate, but the mosquitoes drive me bananas. LOL

To answer your question, no I haven't posted on my finished quilt yet, I'm working on the post today so I can publish the photos on Friday...so come back to my blog on Friday if you can find time.

Enjoy your Holiday Weekend coming up.

  5. I don't care for pickles on their own or on burgers, but I like relish in potato or egg salad.

I can't think of an answer to #7. Ours hasn't been as hot as usual, but I am still ready for some fall coolness. Plus it has been a busier than usual summer, so I am hoping the fall is a little calmer.

  6. It's the peace I aim for and cling to...as for number 7 I just want all the grass to be cut and level at one time without the rain interfering

  7. We have few mosquitoes where I now live. When I lived in Manitoba they were horrendous. Nice to see you again.

  8. I don't like pickles at all - not sure why, because I like most things! I'm looking forward to Spring in SA - I like the inbetween seasons best - spring and autumn (as we call fall here!)

  9. I love the summer veggies at the Farmer's Market. I don't watch football but I know my husband is excited about it.

  10. Hi there Mama Bear, just thought I would let you know my recipe for Lazy Cabbage Rolls is on my blog. I think I posted it in July after you asked about it.

I am with you, Fall and Spring are my favorite seasons.

    God bless.
