A Simple Woman's Daybook

From Mama Bear's Journal
FOR TODAY...Wednesday, February 20, 2013

Outside my window...Its 33°F1°C, and partly cloudy but the sun is supposed to shine sometime today.....and it should reach the upper 40s by 3PM.....

I am thinking... I may not finish this before I have to leave to go to a workshop

I am thankful...for changing seasons, so change already!   Thankful for health, love, a happy home

From the kitchen...Last night we had a tuna casserole with a  pear salad and roll.....this morning I had a pastry and coffee......haven't decided about dinner.....lunch will be served at the workshop and I think it will be chicken stuffed shells...

I am wearing...a warm red robe and fuzzy socks

I am creating...squares for a rag quilt......I used all my yarn and made a total of 34 crocheted squares which we'll be sewing together today at the workshop to make blankets for the homeless.......

I am going...to start walking again, I am, I am

One year ago today...there was no post so I'll use the 14th......it was 41 degrees, cloudy and wet....I was creating goodies for the Bear's Valentine Tea Party....reading Into The Wilderness.....Honey Bear was home for the day and the Princess had Tonsillitis....

I am wondering...why I can't shake this depressing mood I'm in..........the Princess and I are going to a thrift store after school, maybe that will help.....I'm hoping to find a bookshelf for the studio

These days I'm reading...The Legacy.....haven't really gotten into it yet.....I'm looking for a few good books for my nightstand..any suggestions?

I am praying...for my daughter's safe travel (she's on a cruise-coming home Saturday), Shorty Bear who isn't feeling well (praying she has more good days), more energy and motivation for myself......

I remember when...Love was new.....

I am looking forward to...our get-away....and the club's retreat

A verse for today...Psalm 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
continued after 7PM
Discovering that....I'm not getting enough exercise

I am hearing...candy wrappers

Around the house...all is quiet

Song that stays on my Mind...Bye Bye Blackbird from Sleepless in Seattle which I watched last week

A favorite quote for today...“Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”  Robert A. Heinlein

One of my favorite things...Key Lime Pie

A few plans for the rest of the week: a little grocery shopping tomorrow.....pick up our 'grand' dog on Saturday morning and meet our Daughter's plane Saturday night.

From my photo file....

  2. I agree, it's hard to keep one's spirits up this time of the year. It's much easier on the warm, sunny days :)

Now my mouth is watering...thinking about that Key Lime pie!

By the way, do you own the St. Patrick's Day bears in the header photo? I have those same bears!
