A Simple Woman's Daybook

From Mama Bear's Journal
FOR TODAY...Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Outside my window...its wet from an early morning shower and cloudy....temperature is 61 °F, (16 °C)..more showers in the forecast for today, tonight and tomorrow morning....its a good day to be home....

I am thinking...I need a break from house cleaning to eat lunch...it is now 1:40 pm....I need to finish this post I started this morning...

I am thankful...for the energy and motivation to do the housework that is needed....

In the kitchen...clean floors and countertops...plus baseboards and window sills are clean, too.....brownie mix waiting for the Princess to get home from school....she wants to make dessert for dinner.....a layered one....which reminds me to thaw the whipped topping...I'm planning Chicken Fettucini Alfredo and salad for dinner....

I am wearing...my pajamas....I know, I know...but I often clean house in them, they're cool and lose....I'll be cleaning myself up after I finish dusting and vacuuming the bedroom....

I am creating...pillowcase dresses for missions....a clean house...

I am going...to finish this soon

I am wondering...if I'll need to meet the bus so the Princess doesn't get wet or will it stop raining before then....she gets off at the corner, about 3 houses up...

I am reading...Homecoming by Cathy Kelly....this is the first book I've read by her...I like her character sketches....her style reminds me of Maeve Binchy....Homecoming is set in Ireland...

I am hoping...to catch up on my work here at home today....we have a workshop tomorrow to make more pillowcase dresses and also some T-shirt dresses...

I am looking forward to...a shower after I finish cleaning......spending time with friends tomorrow...

I am learning...to make these dresses...

Around the house...its quiet except for the sound of the rain and the clothes dryer......I cleaned the living room yesterday....I have a couple of more loads of laundry to finish this week and I really need to iron a few things....

I am hearing...see "Around the house" above....

I am pondering...why I seem to sabotage my weight loss plan so often....

A favorite quote for today..."I will look up to the mountains ...does my help come from there?  My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth".  Palm 121: 1&2

One of my favorite things...the sound of wind chimes....I repaired several of ours this weekend and they sound so lovely now....

A few plans for the rest of the week: Workshop tomorrow from 9-2.....Earth Day at Hayes Nature Preserve on Saturday....

In our Garden...we're enjoying radishes and Spinach plus Strawberries....

Smokey is....napping in his window seat at the moment....

from my picture file.....last year's baby bunny....we've seen the adults almost every day but no babies....

I apologize for any errors in my post...I don't have time to edit right now.

  4. We see bunnies out in the yard but it just occurred to me after reading your post that we might see babies some day. I've often wondered where they nest bust haven't looked around. There aren't too many places they could hide here.

  5. I love t-shirt dresses. There was a time when that's all I wanted to wear!

We got some of that much-needed rain, too. Our garden is grateful, and so am I!

Sometimes I like to clean in my pj's, too.

  6. Very nice post. Are the pillow case dresses you're making going to "Little Dresses For Africa"? I really admire your service. Have a blessed day.
