Friday's Fave Five

I'm joining Susanne and all her friends as we look back on those special blessings from the week.
I know its Saturday but Blogger was down for maintenance yesterday.

*Having my girls for a sleepover on Monday night and singing Karaoke together.
*Meeting and liking my new doctor on Wednesday, not having to have a pap this year(there are some advantages to being older).
*Receiving a belated Mother's Day card from my son in AFG and a belated Birthday card from my sister.
*My new computer...although I didn't plan on buying one this soon, I had wanted a new one...the old one died and would have cost almost as much to repair as the new one....can't believe how cheap they've gotten since I bought the last one.
*Cooler weather....we had been in the 90s until yesterday and will enjoy a few days of cooler temperatures before it climbs back up there again.

Today is my Mother's Birthday. She would have been 83...I, selfishly wish I could have had her with me a little longer but I know where she is and that I will see her again someday....

  1. Love your post. But the comment about your Mom truly touched my heart. I miss my Mom & Dad to pieces...it's only been 3.5 years since Mom passed away. BUT....I too know where(they)are and that it isn't over, the best is yet to come. Won't that be a glorious reunion?

    Thank you for that comment.

    Many blessings on your day,
    Joyce

  5. And that is the wonderful hope that we have, to see our loved ones again.

    Happy belated birthday to you!

It really is amazing how electronics do go down in price.

  6. I came by to catch up and say hi. Things have been very hectic with all the doctor appointments and such and with surgery coming up this week. It's hard for me to sit at the computer and browse much!

So glad you're safe! Happy belated birthday as well.

  8. Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I do know, and understand just what you mean about wanting your parent[s] with you still. It's not selfish at all. Computers...they are so part of a family these days. I'm thinking I'll get a laptop this next time. Who knows.

Hope your week has been a glorious week.

  9. Oh, new computer.. Yey! Isn't it amazing? they run so much faster, and they cost so much less? Every time I think of my first PC I laugh out loud. It was a giant thing, had no memory and cost about 2 thousand dollars! My phone is a better computer than that thing was!
It sounds like you had fun with the girls - and I totally get it about the Pap. I had a hysterectomy years ago, and I don't miss any of it.
I'm sorry you're missing your mom. My father birthday was last week, too. There are some amazing reunions in our futures, that's for sure.

  11. HI this is Susan - I left a comment on your post on the Tis the Season SAL and then you made a comment that you went to my blog but no Tis the Season blocks to look at. Well I have been a tad busy lately - but stay tuned - I will try to post pics over the weekend. But I am having trouble with Mr Blogger - so who knows how I will go. (This is the second time I have tried to add a commnet.)
