A Simple Woman's Daybook

For today...Tuesday, February 1, 2011
Outside my window...Its a cloudy, overcast day with a brisk wind..the temperature is 50 °F, (10 °C)...it is supposed to be cold tonight and the next few days...there is a Blue Jay on the feeder...I can see that the porch needs cleaning....
Hearing..silence
I am thinking...that I need to get laundry started and do something productive but here I sit.
Feeling thankful for...Honey Bear and our relationship, our love, and friendship...all the years we've been together
I am remembering...the weekend...we had a fire in the fire pit outside, went for walks on Saturday and Sunday...we had two Spring like days
Creating this...? I have plans but every time I think I'll be able to begin, something else comes up.
Looking forward to...lunch and a movie with friends next week....Retreat with some of our club members at Red Rooster in two weeks...Celebration Day for MCHCL on the 19th (our awards luncheon)...a road trip with Honey Bear and a night at a B&B for our anniversary later this month...vacation in Charleston in March...
I am currently reading...Hannah's List by Debbie Macomber...then Made in the USA by Billie Letts
One year ago today...I was decorating with a Valentine theme...doing a Bible study in John...looking forward to Spring
I am hoping...I can be the kind of support I need to be for my Daughter
On my mind...plans for hosting this month's club meeting on the 10th...the crisis in our family...the food which will be served at our retreat in two weeks and how it will fit my diet.
Noticing that...some people are able to live with clutter without it driving them crazy
Pondering these words..."The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in." Morrie Schwartz
From the kitchen...I did the grocery shopping yesterday so for the weekend I'm planning to do the Amazing Pork Tenderloin one night and Chicken Divan the next....another option is Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches...I wanted some fresh Asparagus but they had it in too big a package..that's a problem that I encounter often, trying to cook for only two people.
Around the house...laundry (as usual), vacuum the living room...sort mail
I am praying for...my daughter and her family, Honey Bear, my son's family and my son, Carol (recovering from surgery), also praying we don't get the snow, sleet and freezing rain in the forecast for this week
A few plans for the week...Hair appointment tomorrow, Christian Women's Club on Thursday, Book Club on Friday
One of my favorite things...reading a good book......doing genealogy research and discovering something new
From my picture file..

As always, thanks go to Peggy at The Simple Woman for the creation of the weekly daybook.

  2. Stopping by to catch up with you. Wasn't the weekend gorgeous? I wish we'd had a fire in the pit, too, but my hubby burned trash outside most of the afternoon anyway.

Today feels colder than 54 to me, but that's what the thermometer says. Perhaps it's the clouds and wind.

Sounds like you are gearing up to be busy soon...and Hey, clutter doesn't bother me one bit--it's a way of life around here! LOL

  3. A fire in the pit, we aren't allowed open fires outside in the metropolitan area. Once we had incerators now everything goes out in the different coded rubbish bins. Freezing weather and we have a heatwave , we are the same but differnt.

  5. Somehow I missed that your family was having a crisis. I hope and pray all goes well.

Looks like you have some busy times coming up.

That "Mama Bear" in your walkway is cute!

I haven't read anything by Debbie Macomber yet but I keep hearing about her.
