A Simple Woman's Daybook

For today...

Outside my window...
It is kind of dark, 60 degrees with light rain...the porch is covered with Maple Leaves..not much bird activity...time to put suet out
Hearing...
traffic in the far distance...the new houses are dried in so not much noise from that quarter..
rain and wind
I am thinking...
I need to journal today
.
Day 16
I'm thankful for Friends!

I am remembering...
when days were longer
Creating this...
working on the bag and my scrapbook pages
finished the vest and haven't started a new stitchery...
need to do some hand quilting in the evenings
hopefully a more tidy studio
I am currently reading...
Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult
One year ago today...
I was looking forward to the visit of my son and his family...wish I was doing the same this year...
making holiday plans...enjoying Fall...there was that incident at Fort Hood in the news
I am hoping...
the Princess aces the test I helped her prepare for last night
On my mind...
getting ready for the meeting I'm having today...I am going to serve as President of my women's club next year...we're having a planning meeting this morning
Noticing that...I do not want to go anywhere on days like this...just want to hibernate...I do hope I find the motivation to work on crafts and projects in the studio.
Pondering these words...
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

From the kitchen...
Sausage Balls, Mixed Fresh Fruit, Turnovers, Coffee and Juice for the meeting
Leftover Beef Stew in the fridge
Still need to make that pumpkin bread...I wonder if I set the can of pumpkin on the counter if that will help me get it done......I did a major cleaning in the kitchen on the weekend but the inside of both refrigerators need cleaning.
Around the house...
things look very tidy but don't go in the studio.....I'm in the middle of a couple of things in there plus there are Christmas gifts in store bags waiting to be wrapped....
candles are burning...need to add a little light music.
I am praying for...
Kayren's husband, Robert who is being a living donor, the surgery was yesterday...what an amazing story.
Denise W.: Praise for a good report from her doctor
Mary: still recovering from heart surgery
Safe travel for Honey Bear this afternoon
Good report from doctor for Anni
My family, coming up on the date of Daddy's 2006 Home going
My son and his wife as they face his second deployment
And you
A few plans for the week...
the meeting this morning....then a clean calendar for a change except for fellowship dinner tomorrow night...maybe I'll get some work done here at home....need to plan for our vacation next week: Wednesday-Sunday in Blue Ridge, Georgia
One of my favorite things...
seeing a lower number on the scale when I weigh on Mondays...its been a while since that has happened but I'm praying for change here.
From my picture file...
Open Air Worship

Thanking Peggy for the creation of The Simple Woman's Daybook.

  1. I guess it would be natural for Mama Bear to want to hibernate =) I often wish for the days of non-electricity just so we could get more sleep this time of year -- but yes, I still want my refrigerator and stove and mixers, etc. ;-)

Praying for your son and his wife ~ such great sacrifices made by so many families!

    God bless!

  2. Good for you for serving as President of your women's group! Is this a church-related group or a community group? What all do you do?

It's gray and rainy here, too -- it would be so nice to curl up with a good book or some cross stitch and a movie.

  3. All I wanted to do today is hibernate as well, it was so gloomy, cold and rainy outside! Isn't it funny how our homes can be tidy but we always have ONE room that isn't! lol My computer room looks like a tornado hit it, I really need to get in there and sort things out. Good for you for becoming president of your women's club next year, I wish you all the best of luck with that:-) Prayers are being said for those you mentioned. xoxo
